Walker makes friendly bet on Capital One Bowl

December 31, 2013 By Andrew Beckett

Governor Scott Walker is putting some of Wisconsin’s best products on the line, as the Badgers get set to play in the Capital One Bowl.

The governor’s office says Walker has made a friendly wager with South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley over the outcome of the football game between the Badgers and South Carolina Gamecocks. Walker is offering up Wisconsin beer, brats, and cheese if the Badgers lose, while Haley is betting a selection of South Carolina-made beer and barbecue.

Walker says he’s looking forward to the game, noting that “South Carolina is a formidable opponent, but Wisconsin is very much up the challenge.”

The Badgers and Gamecocks take to the field at noon on New Year’s Day in Orlando.
