Crews battle nursing home fire in Glenwood City

January 14, 2014 By WRN Contributor

Nearly 100 firefighters are on the scene this morning of a fire at a nursing home in Glenwood City. The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department says crews were called to the Glenhaven nursing home just after five this morning, and arrived to find a section of the building that’s currently under construction fully engulfed in flames.

Sheriff’s Department Captain Jeff Klatt says residents were moved to another section of the nursing home and are safe. There have been no reported injuries.

Klatt says the fire appeared to be contained as of about 10 a.m., and crews are doing “mop up work” at this point.

Nearly 20 fire departments were called to assist in fighting the blaze. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
