Janesville girl shot at home

January 9, 2014 By WRN Contributor

A 13-year-old Janesville girl may be lucky to be alive after police say her brother appears to have mistaken her for an intruder. Deputy Police Chief Dan Davis said the victim’s 20-year-old brother thought he was alone at a home in the 3300 block of Spaulding Avenue Wednesday, and didn’t realize his sister was sleeping. He began to hear noises. Davis says when the brother saw the bedroom door move, he fired a shot through it, striking his sister in the back of the arm. She’s been treated and released. He’s facing a possible charge of recklessly endangering safety.
