Governor Walker defends his ethics

February 25, 2014 By WRN Contributor

Citing recently-released John Doe documents, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke charges that Walker has set a low bar for campaign ethics and as governor. Those emails show a co-mingling of government and campaign business by staff when Walker was Milwaukee County Executive.

Walker’s responds to Burke’s comments. “I’ll let her comments speak for themselves. I think when people look at what we have in the governor’s office, I think our standard in terms of code of conduct and ethics is as high or higher than any governor has had in the past.”

Walker says his cabinet and staff in the governor’s office are required to go through ethics training and sign a code of conduct. He says he has two smart phones that he keeps separate for official business and personal or campaign activity.
