Driver facing OWI charges after crash injures three children

March 24, 2014 By WRN Contributor

A River Falls man is under arrest, after he allegedly drove drunk and caused a rollover crash that injured the three children who were in his vehicle.

It happened around 8 p.m. Sunday on Highway 29 in the town of Wheaton near Chippewa Falls. Chippewa County sheriff’s deputies say 40-year-old Chad R. Kohel lost control of his vehicle, and overturned it. One of the three, who were all under the age of 16, was reportedly thrown from the vehicle.

All three children were taken to an Eau Claire hospital. Their conditions and the extent of their injuries were not immediately disclosed.
