WIAA State Hockey Championships to be decided today

The WIAA boys and girls state hockey championships will be decided today at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Madison.

In Friday’s boys semifinals, Onalaska rallied to beat University School 4-3.  Onalaska (23-3-3) will face Verona 25-2-2) in today’s 2:15pm championship.  Verona knocked off top ranked Green Bay Notre Dame 1-0.

The Onalaska girls beat River Falls 4-3 in overtime.  It means Onalaska’s boys and girls will play for a state hockey championship together for the first time.  The Onalaska girls will face Green Bay in today’s girls championship.  Green Bay beat D.C. Everest 2-1 in overtime.
