Mitchell won’t return to Marquette

April 10, 2014 By Bill Scott

After a 22-11 season and a loss to Indiana in the second round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament, Terri Mitchell is out as head coach at Marquette.

Mitchell spent 23-years with the program, 18 as head coach, going 348-215 with 15 post season appearances.  Marquette made seven NCAA Tournament appearances, compiled ten 20-win seasons and captured the 2008 WNIT championship under Mitchell.

No reason was given for Mitchell’s departure from the program.

Mitchell was the fourth coach in the program’s history, which started back in 1975.
