Murder trial begins in Lincoln County

April 7, 2014 By WRN Contributor

Jury selection begins this morning in the trial of a Merrill man accused of killing his wife. 50-year-old Mark Bucki is on trial for the death of his 48year-old wife Anita. Her body was found last May in Taylor County, two weeks after she went missing.

Investigators argue Mark strangled Anita and hid her body in a swamp, so he could continue seeing another woman and cash in a $150,000 life insurance policy.

Nearly 90 potential jurors will be screened starting this morning. Once selected, the jury will hear testimony from nearly 80 witnesses during a trial that’s expected to last at least nine days.
