By Saturday night, Wisconsin will know who will become the 67th Alice in Dairyland.
There are six finalists taking part in the finals competition in Clark County this week. Becky Paris with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer says the winning Alice will fill a one year paid public relations position through their department who will travel across the state all year, giving speeches, writing articles, and educating public about the state’s agriculture industry.
Paris says it’s not a pageant. The winner does serious work to help educate the public and promote Wisconsin agriculture products. Alice is selected based on seven different criteria, which include interview skills, their writing, and public speaking abilities. The winner of the title will get to work right way, helping the state promote agriculture during June Dairy month.
The finalists are Allyson Binversie of Manitowoc, Zoey Brooks from Waupaca, Katie Dogs from Watertown, Kristin Klossner from New Glarus, Melissa Ploeckelman from Stetsonville, and Whitney Rathke from Fredonia.
