Plover man facing homicide charges

June 6, 2014 By WRN Contributor

Charges against a Plover man are expected to change from attempted homicide to homicide, after the victim died in the hospital earlier this week.

77-year-old Christopher Bonnstetter died late Tuesday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. He was taken there after his stepson, 32-year-old Andrew S. Pray, allegedly beat him several times with a baseball bat on Memorial Day.

The complaint says Pray struck the man multiple times in the head and body with the bat. Officers found the severely-injured victim lying in his own blood, face down. Pray was living with his mother and stepfather at that residence. She tried to call for help, but had to call from the neighbor’s place.

Pray is being held on a $250,000 cash bond awaiting his next court appearance Monday.
