Badger women’s soccer advances in NCAA Tournament

November 15, 2014 By Bill Scott

The fourth-seeded Wisconsin women’s soccer team earned a 2-0 win over DePaul on a snowy night in Madison on Saturday.

Senior forward Cara Walls scored two first-half goals to give the No. 9 Badgers (19-2-2) an early 2-0 lead.  The Badgers defense then went to work to preserve Green Bay’s 18th shutout of the season.

Wisconsin advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will play UCF after it defeated Georgia in its first-round match.  The Badgers and UCF will face off Nov. 21 in Tallahassee, Florida, as No. 1 seed Florida State will play host to the second and third round games of the bracket.
