Green Bay Phoenix fall on the road

Green Bay Phoenix logo 2R.J. Hunter scored 26 points and Georgia State rolled to a 72-48 win over the Green Bay Phoenix in a matchup between two of the nation’s top mid-major teams in Atlanta.

The Panthers (6-2) also got 17 points from Ryan Harrow and 11 points and 11 rebounds from T.J. Shipes as Georgia State has put together a five-game winning streak.

Green Bay entered the game number-1 in the RPI rankings, but they fell behind right from the opening tip and never caught up.  The Phoenix (5-2) trailed 42-18 at halftime and trailed by as many as 31 points midway through the second half.

Keifer Sykes had 16 points for Green Bay, who now travels to Florida to face 15th ranked Miami on Saturday.
