The best lie of 2014 in Wisconsin

January 1, 2015 By WRN Contributor

The Burlington Liars Club has announced the winning entry of 2014 for the tallest tale in the land.

The honor, out of 115 total entries, goes to Sharon Eaves of Kenosha, who won for this simple submission: “This morning my husband shaved so close, he shaved 10 years off his life.” Eaves gets a certificate and wallet card proclaiming her the champion liar of 2014.

Among the runners-up, Appleton’s Thomas Balza, who wrote: “I was eating in an outdoor cafe, and it was raining so hard, it took me an hour to finish my soup.”
As usual, most of the contest entries came from Wisconsin and other parts of the Midwest, with some from different parts of the country.
