The Milwaukee Bucks have struggled on offense since dealing leading scorer Brandon Knight to the Phoenix Suns. Last night, they fell to the Bulls 87-71 in Chicago, setting season lows for points and field-goal percentage (33.7%).
It’s the second straight loss for the Bucks, who have fallen for the 3rd time to Chicago this season and extended their losing streak against the Bulls to 6-games.
Bucks head coach Jason Kidd liked his teams defensive effort against the Bulls. They normally win when holding the opposition to 87 points. But without knight, the Bucks failed to hit 90-points for the third straight game.
The Bucks (31-25) are currently in the sixth spot if the Eastern Conference playoffs were to start today. The Bulls (36-21) are in the third spot, which would mean a Bucks vs. Bulls matchup in the first round of the playoffs if things stayed the same. It’s not a good matchup for the Bucks.
Bulls backup Tony Snell had 20 points and forward Nikola Mirotic added 16 points and 14 rebounds. Pau Gasol led Bulls starts with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Khris Middleton finished with a team-high 17 points and Ersan Ilyasova added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bucks could have Michael Carter-Williams for the first time on Wednesday night when they face his former team, Philadelphia at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Carter-Williams has been out with a sprained big toe.
