October 4, 2015 By Bill Scott

Motion WCalifornia native Annie Pankowski scored a hat trick and junior Sarah Nurse added two more goals in Wisconsin’s 8-1 rout of Providence on Saturday in San Jose, California.  It completed a weekend sweep to open the season.

The Badgers outscored the Friars 13-2 in the two-game series.

Freshmen Sam Cogan and Sophia Shaver each scored their first collegiate goals.  Sophomore Emily Clark joined the offensive barrage as well.

Wisconsin out-shot Providence 47-11.

Badger goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens had all seven of her saves in the first period.  Providence didn’t put a single shot on goal in the second-period.
