Bucks Arena to be delayed by a year

October 28, 2015 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Bucks logo 10The Milwaukee Bucks had hoped to have their new arena built and ready for the start of the 2017-18 NBA season.  But the team said that projected opening is expected to be delayed by a year.

The Bucks say their construction schedule now targets 2018-19 as the new opening, saying the earlier date “simply isn’t realistic.”

The NBA had threatened to move the team if a new arena wasn’t built by 2017, but an NBA spokesperson said the league is “comfortable with the revised timetable.”

The Bucks will continue to call the BMO Harris Bradley Center home until the new facility is completed.
