Andrew Obregon is in custody. Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth confirmed that a man involved in a chase with law enforcement in the area of Green Bay Road and the Illinois state line was Obregon, and that the search for him is over.

It’s believed Obregon car jacked a Chevy Spark in the town of Brighton on Tuesday afternoon. Law enforcement flooded the area in an attempt to find him. Officers from Illinois spotted him and were involved in a foot pursuit with Obregon just south of the state line in Winthrop Harbor. Just after 4:00 pm, Beth announced that Obregon had been captured.

Obregon has been on the run for about 2 weeks, after the body of a Kenosha man was found in a Town of Paris corn field. At first, investigators said Obregon was wanted for questioning, but he was later named as a suspect in the death of Tywon Anderson. In the meantime, Obregon is accused of being involved in a string of crimes, including high speed chases, burglaries and a robbery while eluding capture.
