Business dispute may have led to fatal Madison shooting

November 16, 2015 By Bob Hague

A dispute over a real estate transaction apparently led to a fatal shooting in Madison. Police arrested a 52-year-old man, Sophea “Bruce” Mouth, on Friday shortly after a shooting at a southwest side auto repair shop left one man dead and a second with critical injuries.

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the shooting killed 70-year-old Thomas Dreger of Monona. The injured man is in his 50s and has net yet have not identified, but Dreger family members told the Wisconsin State Journal that he was struck by a bullet that went through Tom Dreger.

Sophea Mouth is tentatively charged with first-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide. A witness called police and officers were on the scene within minutes, arresting Mouth and recovering what they think is the murder weapon, according to reports.
