Designate a driver for Thanksgiving revelry

November 25, 2015 By WRN Contributor

Tonight’s a big night for drinking in the nation’s booziest state. “It has really become bigger than New Years Eve,” said Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald, who recommends a designated driver for those planning to kick off the long holiday weekend with visits to their favorite taverns.

Fitzgerald said it will also be a big night for drunk driving arrests statewide. “With everybody home for the holiday, it’s a big night for underage drinking and OWI. We want everybody to be safe out there.” Wisconsin ranks number one in the nation for binge drinking.
