School bus driver to be cited in Manitowoc

November 25, 2015 By WRN Contributor

Manitowoc police say a school bus driver will be ticketed for hitting a 15-year-old girl. The bus struck Jacklynn Gienke last Thursday morning near Wilson Junior High School. Friends of the Gienke family say she suffered extensive injuries including fractures in her neck and lower back.

Gienke remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Investigators said Gienke was crossing the street when the bus driver pulled out from a stop sign and struck her. He will be cited for failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian, according to Detective Andrew Trilling of the Manitowoc Police Department.
