Hot shooting Green Bay falls at Milwaukee

January 30, 2016 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Panthers logoThe Green Bay Phoenix (13-9, 5-4 HL) shot 73% from the field in the second half and 63% for the game, yet still managed to fall to the Milwaukee Panthers 95-94 in a Horizon League rivalry battle.

Jordan Johnson scored seven of his 17 points in the final 88-seconds for Milwaukee.

Akeem Springs missed two free throws with four seconds left, but managed to grab the deflected rebound to protect the Panthers’ lead and win.

Carrington Love led all five Green Bay starters in double figures with 24 points as Green Bay notched 90-plus points for the fourth-straight game and the ninth time this year.

The 95 points by the Panthers is the most they’ve scored in a Horizon League game this year.  Matt Tiby and Austin Arians led the Panthers (15-7, 6-3 HL) with 20 points apiece.
