Division 3 College basketball roundup

Shot ClockUW-La Crosse took over sole possession of first place in the WIAC with a 74-67 win over UW-Stout on Wednesday night, along with a River Falls’ loss to Eau Claire.  The Eagles (13-7, 7-2) trailed by six at the half but used a 17-1 run against the Blue Devils (4-15, 0-9) in the second half to gain control.

UW-Eau Claire 78, UW-River Falls 56

The Blugolds (13-7, 6-3) moved into a second place tie in the conference by winning at River Falls (12-8, 6-3).

UW-Whitewater 72, UW-Stevens Point 51

Trinson White scored 23 points to lead the Warhawks (13-7, 4-5 WIAC) on the road against the Pointers (11-9, 4-5).

UW-Oshkosh 79, UW-Platteville 72

The Titans (12-8, 5-4 WIAC) recovered down the stretch at home after the Pioneers (10-10, 4-5) came back from a 12-point deficit to tie the game at 60-60.

Midwest Conference

The St. Norbert College Green Knights overcame a 15-point second-half deficit to win their 58th consecutive Midwest Conference game, 62-59 over Lawrence University in Appleton on Wednesday night. The Knights are now just four-games away from a new National Record for consecutive conference wins among current teams in NCAA Division 3 play.  Wheaton College of Illinois holds the record of 61 set back in the 1950’s.  The Knights (17-2, 14-0 MWC) now have a three-game lead on Carroll College with four left to play in the regular season.
