Admirals clinch AHL Central

April 11, 2016 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Admirals logoThe Milwaukee Admirals have locked up their fifth division title since joining the American Hockey League in 2001.  The Admirals captured the AHL’s Central Division title with a 4-2 win in Charlotte, North Carolina on Sunday.

The Admirals actually clinched the title later in the day when Lake Erie was shut out by Rochester 2-0.

Pontus Aberg scored twice for the Admirals and Juuse Daros had 31 saves as Milwaukee won their sixth straight game and extended their current team points’ streak to 12 contests.

The Admirals also guaranteed themselves home-ice advantage for at least the first two rounds of the Calder Cup Playoffs, which start next week.
