Culver: antibiotic-free items driven by consumer demand

April 11, 2016 By WRN Contributor

The CEO of an iconic Wisconsin restaurant chain says more changes are coming to the industry. Culver’s CEO Craig Culver says it’s driven by consumer demand.

“We currently buy all of our chicken antibiotic-free, and I know it’s coming in the other proteins as well,” Culver said. He spoke with the Brownfield Ag News Network during the recent Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin Business Conference in Madison.

Culver, who opened his first restaurant with his parents in 1984 in their hometown of Sauk City, said he welcomes the challenge. I love change, it keeps me motivated,” he said. There are now 572 Culver’s restaurants in 22 states — 133 in Wisconsin.
