Rock County Jail inmate dies in custody

May 2, 2016 By WRN Contributor

The State Department of Corrections and the Medical Examiner are helping the Rock County Sheriff’s Office investigate the death of a county jail inmate.

The sheriff’s office says 45-year-old Sheri L. Parker was found dead at 6:46 Saturday morning in the jail’s medical unit.  Parker was found during a routine security check.

The Janesville Gazette has learned from sheriff’s officials, Parker had complained of abdominal pain Thursday night, and was taken to the hospital Friday.  Officials say she’d been cleared to return to the jail late Friday night.
