Appleton police investigate weekend homicide

June 13, 2016 By WRN Contributor

Appleton police are releasing more information on a weekend homicide. Police have identified the victim as 43-year-old Jose Gil-Leon. His daughter, 24-year-old Lidia A. Gil was shot and wounded during the Saturday incident. She was released from a hospital on Saturday.

Officers responded to a call at around 2:45 a.m. Saturday to the residence where where both father and daughter lived. Police say other people were there at the time of the shooting.

The Appleton Police Department has issued arrest warrants nationwide for two brothers, 29-year-old Jorge Luis Zendejas-Cano and 31-year-old Miguel Zendejas-Cano. Both are considered suspects in the shooting.

On Sunday, police were notified that a vehicle believed to be used in connection with the homicide crossed the border into Mexico at Laredo, Texas. It’s unknown who was in the vehicle.

Police are also looking for 20-year-old Alejandro Cano, who they think was at the house at the time of the shooting and was a witness.
