The Racine County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation reveals one of three occupants in a Burlington home was responsible for their deaths in a May 14th explosion.
Evidence showed removal of an LP gas line in the basement led to the explosion after flames had been observed by witnesses.
One victim, 17-year old Nicholas Chaulkin, died from a gunshot wound to the head. Forty-one-year- old Craig Lambert and 43-year old Kimberly Howe had a domestic dispute after years of living there together. Howe and her son Chaulkin had stayed at a motel for a time to get away from Lambert, who’d been kicked out. Howe went back to the address that day to ensure Lambert was packing to leave.
A news release says the exact events may never be known, but the evidence points to Craig Lambert being responsible for the fire and explosion, and all three deaths.
