Augmon to join Bucks coaching staff

September 7, 2016 By Bill Scott

milwaukee-bucks-logo-11Former UNLV star and NBA player Stacey Augmon will be joining the Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant coach.

With training camp now less than three weeks away, Augmon is expected to sign a contract with the Bucks soon.

The Bucks had an opening when they decided not to rehire assistant Josh Oppenheimer.

The 48-year-old Augmon served with the Bucks coaching staff during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in July.

As an NBA player, Augmon averaged 8.0 points and 3.2 rebounds in 16 NBA seasons.  He was the ninth overall pick of the Atlanta Hawks in the 1991 NBA draft.

He also played for Detroit, Portland, Charlotte, New Orleans and Orlando.
