President Barack Obama has approved federal disaster aid for eight northern Wisconsin counties hit by heavy rains and floods last month. Governor Scott Walker says that will help local governments with up to 75-percent of repair costs to washed out roads and bridges.
A foot of rain caused more than $25-million in infrastructure damage July 11th and 12th. Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Florence, Iron, Sawyer, and Washburn counties and the Bad River tribe are eligible for the aid.
