Should Interstate-90 have been closed, because of Wednesday's massive snowstorm? After hundreds of motorists became stranded on the Interstate, some are second guessing the decision to keep the "I" open. But Superintendent Dave Collins with the Wisconsin State Patrol says rerouting all that traffic was not a realistic proposition. Collins and Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney said there was no safe route to draw traffic off the Interstate, with state highways snow covered, slippery and hazardous. Stranded motorists were assisted by the Dane and Rock County Sheriff's departments, the State Patrol, DNR, National Guard and other local agencies.
