The Milwaukee Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America is out with it’s 2010 Milwaukee Brewer award winners.
Third baseman Casey McGehee was voted Brewers Most Valuable Player. McGehee edged out second baseman Rickie Weeks and outfielder Corey Hart for the award. McGehee hit .285 with 23 home runs and a team-leading 104 rbi’s in 157 games.
For the second straight season, Yovani Gallardo was voted Brewers Most Valuable Pitcher. Gallardo edged closer John Axford for the honor after posting a 14-7 record with a 3.84 ERA in 31 starts.
John Axford was unanimously voted the Brewers Top Newcomer after going 8-2 with a 2.48 ERA and 24 saves on the season.
Reliever Kameron Loe beat out catcher Jonathan Lucroy to earn Brewers Unsung Hero honors.
Reliever Trevor Hoffman earned the Good Guy Award, breaking the two-year reign of infielder Craig Counsell.
