Drunk firefighter suspended

October 29, 2010 By WRN Contributor

A Fond du Lac firefighter is on administrative leave without pay, after officials say he showed up to work while intoxicated.

FDL Fire Chief Peter O’Leary says the firefighter was tested and relieved of duty after showing up to his station. He was not sent out on any calls and O’Leary says the public and other firefighters were not put at any risk.

O’Leary says it could be awhile before the firefighter is allowed to return to duty, although he declined what factors are playing a role in that decision.
