Hockey Badgers salvage 1-point in Denver

October 24, 2010 By Bill Scott

After a 4-2 loss in Denver on Friday night, the Wisconsin Badgers pulled out a 2-2 tie to grab 1 of 4 points on the weekend against the Pioneers.

Senior goalie Scott Gudmandson recorded 36 saves as the Badgers pick up their first point in WCHA play.  The 14th ranked Badgers improved to 3-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in WCHA play.

The Badgers jumped out to a 2-0 lead on a first period goal by freshman forward Mark Zengerle and a second period goal by Wisconsin senior captain Sean Dolan.

Denver pulled even on a pair of third period goals by Kyle Ostrow to pull out the 2-2 tie.

Wisconsin returns to the Kohl Center on Halloween weekend to play their WCHA home opener against Michigan Tech.
