Discipline is the name of the game for Packers & Falcons

January 13, 2011 By Bill Scott

When it comes to on field discipline, the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons are two of the better teams in the NFL.

The Packers ended the regular season with 78 penalties accepted against them, which ties them for third-best in the NFL.  Green Bay had just two penalties in last week’s playoff win over Philadelphia.

On the flip side, the Atlanta Falcons rank #1 in the league in fewest penalties accepted.  They’ve only had 58 penalties accepted by opposing teams this season.

Injuries

On the Packers injury front, safety Atari Bigby and fullback Korey Hall both practiced on Wednesday and could make a return to action this week.  But linebacker Frank Zombo is still bothered by a knee injury and his chances of returning to action are diminishing.  Offensive lineman Jason Spitz also suffered a calf strain in practice on Tuesday and didn’t practice on Wednesday.
