Clutch hitting leads Brewers to victory

May 19, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers have found life difficult on the road this season.  Since April 29th on the road, the Brewers were hitting just .099, 8 for 81 with runners in scoring position.

Last night, the Brewers changed their luck, going 4 for 12 with runners in scoring position in a 5-2 win over the San Diego Padres.

Mark Kotsay got a start in center field and turned out to be the hitting hero.  He collected 3 hits and drove in a pair of runs.

Yovani Gallardo won his third straight start, fanning 9 through 6-innings.  John Axford worked the 9th for his 10th save of the season.

Chris Narveson pitches the series finale for the Brewers.  He faces Aaron Harang.
