Interleague struggles continue for Brewers

June 29, 2011 By Bill Scott

These aren’t the banged up Twins anymore.  Last night, the Milwaukee Brewers got roughed up in their series opener against the Yankees, 12-2 in New York.

Ace Zach Greinke also suffered his worst outing since putting on a Brewers uniform, getting roughed up for 7-runs in just 2-innings of work.

Greinke’s struggles against the Yankees continued.  In 5-games, 4 of them starts, he’s 0-3 with a 11.29 earned run average.  Greinke surrendered 5-runs in the second inning alone last night as the Brewers dropped to 15-25 on the road this season.

Mark Teixeira homered and drove in 4-runs, while Nick Swisher added a 3-run homer.

The Brewers send Shaun Marcum to the hill for game 2 of the series tonight.
