Pinch-hitter Mark Kotsay clubbed a 2-run, pinch hit home run to lead the San

Jeff Suppan with the Brewers

Diego Padres to a 2-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers 2-0 at Petco Park in San Diego.

Kotsay, who played for the Brewers last season, clubbed a 1-1 pitch from Francisco Rodriguez to right field to win it for the Padres.

It was Kotsay’s fourth career pinch home run, but the first since 2002 in his first stint with the Padres.

Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun, who clubbed 3 home runs and a triple the night before, was just 1 for 4 last night.  As a team, the Brewers managed just 3-hits on the night.

The two starters, Edinson Volquez for the Reds and Shaun Marcum for the Brewers, both worked 7-innings of 3-hit, shutout ball.

The series is tied 1-1.  Yovani Gallardo pitches the finale for the Brewers.  Former Brewer Jeff  Suppan has been called up from Triple (A) and will start tonight for San Diego.
