Stricker is 5-shots off the lead at WGC

Jim Furyk fired a 7-under par 63 in the opening round of the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.  Furyk has a 2-shot lead over Lee Slattery of England at the World Golf Championship.  Furyk’s first round included an eagle and 7 birdies.

Madison’s Steve Stricker shot an opening round 2-under par 68 and is 5-shots off the lead heading to round 2 today.  Fellow Wisconsin golfer Mark Wilson shot an opening round 2-over-par 72.
