Brewers drop 7th straight series

The losing continued for the Milwaukee Brewers this weekend, falling 5-4 to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday at Miller Park.

Wandy Rodriguez won his fourth straight start to lead the Pirates to their 13th win in the last 15 games.  The Pirates are now a season high 12-games over .500.  Jason Grilli pitched a scoreless ninth for his major league-leading 20th save.

The Pirates got to starter Yovani Gallardo (3-5) for a run in the second and three more in the third, jumping out to a 4-0 lead.

Gallardo needed 94 pitches to get through four innings.  He allowed 5-hits, 4-earned runs, 2-walks and 7-strikeouts.  he hasn’t won since April 29th.

The Brewers (19-29) have dropped 17 of their last 22 games and 7-consecutive series.  They closed the gap to 5-4, but the Pirates Jason Grilli worked a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his league leading 20th save.
