Jimmy Nelson allowed four runs in both the third and fourth innings and the San Francisco Giants completed a three game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers with a 10-1 victory in the series finale on Wednesday.
Nelson fell to 0-3 with a 9.69 ERA in the month of June. He fell to 5-6 overall with a 3.92 ERA.
The Brewers didn’t help with their sloppy defense, committing four errors as they fell to 4-14 in the last 18 games played in San Francisco. The Giants banged out 16-hits in the win.
Johnny Cueto pitched seven innings, allowing a run on seven hits while striking out nine. Cueto improved to 10-1 with a 2.10 ERA. He’s now 11-3 with a 2.17 ERA against the Brewers, including a 8-0 mark with a 1.68 ERA in his last eight starts against Milwaukee.
