Sunday storms cause weak tornado in Waupaca County

June 27, 2016 By WRN Contributor

The National Weather Service says a weak tornado touched down in Waupaca County early Sunday morning, as strong storms swept across Wisconsin throughout the night.

The NWS says an EF0 tornado was on the ground at about 2:15 a.m. for about three miles between Manawa and Bear Creek. The twister damaged buildings and a silo, pushed a manufactured home off its foundation, and uprooted trees.

Severe storms Saturday night into Sunday brought high winds, hail, and heavy rains to several areas. About 3,500 electric customers in northeastern Wisconsin were left with power for several hours.
