National Weather Service confirms three tornadoes in Wisconsin

July 7, 2016 By Andrew Beckett

The National Weather Service says three tornadoes touched down in western Wisconsin during Tuesday night’s heavy wind and rainstorms.

Two of the twisters landed in Buffalo County. Both were rated EF1 with winds of over 100 miles an hour. They caused damage to buildings, while no injuries were reported.

The third tornado touched down in Vernon County. It was an EF0 with winds of about 80 miles an hour.

More severe weather is possible through tonight in southern and west central Wisconsin. Those regions were the hardest hit during the Tuesday night and early Wednesday storms.
