Officials with the National Weather Service have confirmed that a weak tornado touched down in Kewaunee Saturday.
According to the NWS, the twister was on the ground for three minutes starting at 10:03 a.m. It carved out a path about 125 yards wide and less than a mile long. It damaged at least 100 trees and caused minor damage to some homes on the city’s west side. Some large trees were uprooted in very wet soil.
The tornado was rated EF0, with peak winds estimated at 85 mph. Straight-line winds were measured at 51 mph along the lakeshore.
No one was injured or killed.
