Carter leaves Marquette

December 15, 2016 By Bill Scott

Sophomore point guard Traci Carter has left the Marquette basketball team and will transfer closer to home.

Carter told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, “It’s been tough being away from my family, so far (away).  I miss them a lot, so that’s been tough.  There’s been some problems back home.”

The 6-foot point guard from Philadelphia started 23 of his 41 career games.  He appeared in eight games this season, including four starts, averaging 4.3 points, 3.6 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 16.3 minutes.  He missed the last two games with a sore knee.

Carter will be the second player to transfer this season after Sandy Cohen III announced that he is leaving Marquette for the Green Bay Phoenix.
