The Wisconsin women’s basketball team got off to a slow start and fell to North Carolina 72-59 at the Kohl Center on Thursday night.
The Tarheels jumped out to a 23-11 lead in the first 10 minutes, then cruised to victory.
The Badgers (2-6) outscored North Carolina (6-1) 34-25 in the second half but couldn’t overcome their slow start.
Avyanna Young led the Badgers with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Suzanne Gilreath and Cayla McMorris both added 11 points in the loss.
