NBA Draft Lottery takes place tonight

The NBA Draft Lottery takes place tonight (Tuesday) in New York City.  The lottery gives the Bucks a slim chance of improving their draft position in the upcoming June 23rd NBA Draft.

After missing the playoffs, the Bucks currently own the number-ten pick in the first round and the lottery will give them a 6.5% chance of moving up to the top three, and a 1.8% chance of actually landing the top pick in the draft.

The Bucks overcame those odds in 2005 when they won the top overall pick and selected Andrew Bogut.  They also scored a top player two years ago when they took Jabari Parker with the second overall selection.

Bucks coach Jason Kidd will represent the team on the lottery’s T-V broadcast, while vice president Alex Lasry watches the selection of the ping pong balls backstage.

Tonight’s lottery begins around 6:45 on ESPN.

Bucks will stay put at #12 in upcoming Draft

May 31, 2012 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks stayed put at #12 for the June 28th NBA Draft.

Bucks general manager John Hammond said the Bucks enter the draft thinking that they can get a good player at #12 and they leave the lottery thinking the same thing.

Charlotte turned out to be the biggest loser.  They entered with the League’s worst record but didn’t land the top pick.  That honor goes to the New Orleans Hornets, who moved up into the top spot.

Charlotte dropped to number 2, Washington slipped to 3rd and Cleveland drops to 4.

annual Draft Lottery.  The Bucks have only a 2.54% chance of moving up from the 12th spot and landing one of the top three picks in the June 28th Draft.

Bucks general manager John Hammond said even if the Bucks don’t move up from #12, they do believe this draft is deep and the Bucks should be able to get some help.

The team that lands the top pick in tonight’s lottery will likely be keeping the seat warm for Kentucky freshman Anthony Davis who is projected to be the top pick in the draft.

The Charlotte Bobcats finished with the worst season in NBA history.  Charlotte has a 25% chance of victory, after finishing 7-59 last season.

Not since 2004, when the Orlando Magic drafted Dwight Howard, has the team with the worst record won the lottery.
