Ellis leads Bucks past Mavericks

February 27, 2013 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Bucks went with Monta Ellis at point guard down the stretch last night and he didn’t disappoint.  Ellis poured in 22 points and the Bucks held on to beat the Dallas Mavericks 95-90 in Dallas on Tuesday night.

With point guard Brandon Jennings on the bench for the final 3+ minutes of action, Ellis, J.J. Redick, Mike Dunleavy, Ersan Ilyasova and Larry Sanders closed out the Bucks win.

Ilyasova hit three clinching free throws in the final 17 seconds, but it was Ellis who led the charge.  Besides the 22 points, Ellis added 9 assists and 6 steals in the win.

J.J. Redick added 14 points, Mike Dunleavy 13 and Larry Sanders had 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Dirk Nowitzki had 21 points and 20 rebounds and O.J. Mayo added 18 to lead the Mavericks.

The Bucks wrap up their 2-game swing through Texas with a game in Houston against the Rockets tonight.
