Brewers roughed up by the Reds (AUDIO)

June 17, 2013 By Bill Scott

Carlos Gomez clubbed his team leading 12th homer of the season in the opening inning, but that was about all that went right for the Brewers Sunday.  Milwaukee fell to the Reds 5-1 at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.  The Brewers now sit at 28-40 for the season.

Milwaukee starter Wily Peralta continued his up-and-down 2013 lasting only 5 1/3 innings allowing 5-runs, 4-earned, as he fell to 4-8 on the year.  Milwaukee Manager Ron Roenicke says Peralta needs to be better:

Johnny Cueto came of the DL for the Reds to shut down the Brewers.  He allowed the one run on 5-hits in 6-innings.

Milwaukee is off Monday night before closing out their 9-game road trip in Houston with the first of three Tuesday.  The Brewers are currently 3-3 on their road trip.
