Madison’s Steve Stricker finished tied for second at the PGA’s FedEx St. Jude Classic on Sunday, earning him a spot in the upcoming British Open.

Stricker said he hasn’t decided yet if he will actually play in the event, but he’s never won a major and he said you can’t win one if you don’t play.

Stricker told golfchannel.com that it’s he and his wife’s (Nicki) anniversary that week and they’ll discuss it together.

Stricker is getting ready to host the inaugural American Family Insurance Championship, a PGA Tour Champions event, June 24-26 at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison.

Daniel Berger won the St. Jude Classic, his first career win on the PGA Tour.
