Gallardo named Brewers opening day starter

March 30, 2010 By Bill Scott

Yovani GallardoRight handed pitcher Yovani Gallardo was officially named the Milwaukee Brewers opening day starter yesterday.

Gallardo was 13-12 with a 3.73 ERA last season.  He’ll make his first opening day start when the Brewers face the Colorado Rockies at Miller Park on Monday.

The next three spots in the rotation go to left handed pitchers Randy Wolf and Doug Davis, along with right hander Dave Bush.

Manager Ken Macha held off on naming a fifth starter because the Brewers won’t need one for a couple of weeks.
